Wicked: For Good — Framestore’s VFX Bring Oz to Life on an Epic Scale

On Wicked: For Good, Framestore expanded the world of Oz through large-scale visual effects, combining digital environment extensions with the complex integration of hundreds of CGI animals.

The visual effects extended iconic locations beyond their physical limits, transforming sets into sweeping environments such as the Emerald City, Munchkinland, and Shiz University while retaining their handcrafted feel.

At the emotional center of the film, No Place Like Home presented a complex challenge, integrating 107 species of CGI animals into practical locations, carefully balancing detailed grooms with dense digital foliage to preserve both realism and narrative intimacy.
