Resident Evil returns with a bold new direction that moves away from past adaptations. The teaser follows a courier trapped in a remote hospital during a deadly outbreak, facing waves of terrifying mutations.
Director Zach Cregger shares his vision for Resident Evil in this first featurette for the upcoming adaptation, teasing a thrilling and terrifying reinvention of the iconic survival horror franchise.
The production’s visual effects are supervised by Alessandro Ongaro, alongside Production VFX Producer and Associate Producer Brice Parker, and VFX Production Supervisor Carolyn Shea. The visual effects are led by Weta FX, with VFX Supervisor Kevin Smith overseeing the work.
The upcoming Resident Evil film, directed by Zach Cregger, is set to be released on September 18, 2026, in the United States.
