The first teaser for Whalefall has been released, offering a tense look at the survival thriller in which a scuba diver is swallowed by a giant sperm whale while searching for his father’s remains.
Whalefall follows a scuba diver searching for his father’s remains who is swallowed by an 80-foot, 60-ton sperm whale. Trapped inside the creature with only one hour of oxygen remaining, he must find a way to escape before time runs out.
The visual effects for the film were created by ILM and The Yard VFX. The production’s visual effects team was led by Production VFX Supervisor Guillaume Rocheron and Production VFX Producer Annemarie Griggs.
The movie is directed by Brian Duffield and scheduled for release in the United States on October 15, 2026.
