For Sandokan, the Milan-based studio EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani delivers an ambitious and wide-ranging body of visual effects, supporting the series’s pirate-driven action, large-scale battles, and exotic locations while enhancing both the scope and atmosphere of the story.
The visual effects created for Sandokan cover a wide spectrum of work, from detailed CG creatures and digital environments to large-scale crowd shots and CG assets. Fire simulations and complex 3D elements play a key role in enhancing the action and the sense of adventure throughout the film.
Set against the backdrop of Mompracem, the story follows the Malaysian pirate Sandokan and his crew as they confront British forces, while a forbidden romance unfolds with Lady Marianna Guillonk. The VFX support both the epic scope of the conflict and the more intimate moments of the narrative.
