For La città proibita, EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani crafted invisible visual effects work centered on realistic environments, stunt augmentation, and gore enhancements. The studio’s contributions help reinforce the gritty tone of the film and its violent journey through Rome’s criminal underworld.
The story follows the son of a restaurant owner and a foreign girl searching for their missing relatives while confronting ruthless gang members. To support this grounded narrative, the VFX work was designed to stay fully integrated within the live-action photography, with subtle environment extensions and seamless enhancements throughout the film.
EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani also worked on enhancing the many action scenes and fight sequences, adding extra impact through invisible stunt work and gore effects. Their work strengthens the realism and brutality of the film while remaining largely unnoticed by the audience.
