The first trailer for Klara and the Sun offers a look at Taika Waititi’s adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s acclaimed novel. The story follows Klara, an Artificial Friend who longs to find a home and a meaningful connection.

When she meets a young girl facing personal struggles and loss, Klara’s optimism and devotion begin to bring hope to a family searching for healing. The film explores themes of friendship, love, and human connection through a unique science-fiction lens.

Tobias Wolters oversaw the project as Production VFX Supervisor with Max Serges as the Production VFX Producer. The visual effects are created by Leitmotif and DNEG (VFX Supervisor: Xavier Matia Bernasconi).

Klara and the Sun is directed by Taika Waititi and scheduled to be released in the United States on October 23, 2026.
