For Stranger Things Season 5, The Yard VFX delivered more than 530 visual effects shots across all eight episodes, including major digital work on Henri Creel’s house, Hawkins High, the WSQK radio station, the MacZ military zone, playgrounds, the rocky outcrop, and multiple large-scale sequences set in the Upside Down.
Across the season, the studio collaborated closely with the show’s VFX leadership and partner vendors to expand and reconstruct iconic Hawkins locations through set extensions, digital rebuilds, perspective adjustments, and full CG environments, ensuring visual continuity with previous seasons.
In the Upside Down, complex vehicle chases required sky replacements, full relighting, procedural vines, dynamic fog, floating spores, and CG reconstruction of vehicles, including windshield cracks, reflections, and slime residues. The team also handled stylized POV shots such as binoculars, spyglass views, and Will’s visions, integrating FX-driven elements with emotional precision.
