MAN OF STEEL: John “DJ” Desjardin – Production VFX Supervisor
John "DJ" Desjardin began his career in visual effects 20 years ago. He worked on projects like TIMECOP, BROKEN ARROW, RELIC or MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE II. He becomes Production VFX Supervisor on the two MATRIX sequels. Then he took care of the VFX for films such as like FANTASTIC FOUR, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND or THE KINGDOM. MAN OF STEEL is his third collaboration with director Zack Snyder.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS: Ben Grossmann – VFX Supervisor – Pixomondo
Ben Grossmann began his career in the VFX more than 10 years ago. He has worked on many films such as THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, 2012 SHUTTER ISLAND or ALICE IN WONDERLAND. He received an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for HUGO.
IRON MAN 3: Bryan Grill – VFX Supervisor – Scanline VFX
During his last visit here, Bryan Grill had explained to us the work of Scanline VFX on HEREAFTER. He then worked on GULLIVER'S TRAVELS and THE AVENGERS.
DREDD: Jon Thum – VFX Supervisor – Prime Focus World
Jon Thum works in visual effects for over 20 years. He worked in London, Australia and the USA. He has participated in projects like DARK CITY, THE MATRIX, PITCH BLACK or TROY. He won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for THE MATRIX.
THE EXPENDABLES 2: Ajoy Mani – VFX Supervisor – Worldwide FX
Ajoy Mani is back on The Art of VFX. After explaining the effects of Worldwide FX on CONAN THE BARBARIAN, he tells us about his work on THE EXPENDABLES 2 and its many challenges.
TOTAL RECALL: Aleksandar Pejic – VFX Supervisor – Prime Focus
Aleksandar Pejic has worked for many years at Double Negative and particularly on films such as BATMAN BEGINS, CHILDREN OF MEN, THE DARK KNIGHT or INCEPTION. He then joined Prime Focus and supervises the effects of TOTAL RECALL.
GREEN ZONE: Charlie Noble – VFX Supervisor – Double Negative
Charlie Noble works in visual effects for over 15 years. He joined Double Negative at its beginnings in working on PITCH BLACK. He will participate by result in numerous projects from studios like ENEMY AT THE GATES, FLYBOYS or THE DARK KNIGHT. He has also supervised THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM directed by Paul Greengrass, that he meet again on GREEN ZONE.
LEGION: Jeff Campbell – VFX Supervisor – Spin VFX
Jeff Campbell has evolved in visual effects for 17 years as an animator, compositor, and VFX Supervisor. He has added his unique artistic vision to the benefit of numerous feature film projects such as FIGHT CLUB, X-MEN and THE CELL. He join Spin in 2003. His most recent VFX Supervisor credits include, 20th Century Fox’s “MAX PAYNE” and now Sony Screen Gems “LEGION”. He talks about his work on LEGION and the challenge that were the wings of the Angels.
